fabric scissors

it's 2:43am and clearly I should be asleep.

I just spent the last few hours cutting up old shirts
lately I've been really into short, loose/wide tops
not short to the point where it shows off your midriff
but short to where it falls right inbetween the normal hem of a t-shirt and just below the chest area
my recent love for these kinds of shirts spawned from a top I bought at forever 21
the shirt was too short and wide and loose
but I liked it
I've probably worn this shirt ten times in the past few weeks lolz
anyways
I've been looking for more shirts like these while I shop, but can never find one at the exact length that I want
so I decided to cut some of my old shirts instead
which led to me watching various t-shirt cutting videos on youtube
how-to videos showing you how to cut around the neckline a certain way, videos where you can braid the fabric of the t-shirt together by weaving, etc.
(in short: a lot wasted time mindlessly watching youtube)

the last shirt I cut up was this simple black t-shirt that I got for free at UT
it was one of those days where people promote their companies or w/e by posting up at west mall and giving away free shit
everyone loves free stuff
I spent some time modifying this last shirt
posting up some pictures later !

originally was a plain black t-shirt
well, not totally plain
APARTMENT GURUS logo and information is plastered on the backside haha
and it said "apartment gurus" on the front as well, but I covered it with the pocket
this was more of an experimental shirt because that one sleeve looks alright at best, but the other one looks kinda ehhh
I stretched the fabric out too much because the incisions are supposed to be shorter on the outside and longer towards the middle, and originally it was cut that way but I kept cutting off parts of the sleeve to make it shorter
I have a strong compulsion to go to goodwill and buy many many old t-shirts to cut up.

went to joann's after class today
bought fabric to put on the wall in my dorm
and I bought more pretty paper to cut up and use to decorate
super super excited to decorate the room :)

oh and I got my test grade back today and it was the same score I received on the last test LOL
wow I usually suck ass at guessing answers
but this time it pulled through
DEFINITELY STUDYING TONIGHT FOR THE FINAL.
must drill that thought into my head

hmm that's all for now I suppose
my room looks like a war zone
it's so messy
and a million bits of fabric are strewn everywhere on top of that ahh

cavity fillings part uno

I just came back from having two cavities filled on the right side of my mouth
therefore the right side of my mouth is extremely numb
it feels so weird !
especially when I touch my lip
it just feels like a fat piece of flesh attached to my face
idk, it's strange
I prolonged getting my cavities filled this whole time basically because I was scared of the anaesthetic shots in the mouth
sighhh I'm such a pussy when it comes to shots :(
getting the other two cavities on the left side filled on thurs.
how the hell did I get four cavities at once :(

on a totally unrelated and unfortunate note:
I SLEPT THROUGH THE FIRST HOUR OF MY TEST TODAY WTF
also
I was supposed to wake up at 8am to cram three chapters of information into my head beforehand
which obviously didn't happen
so
I went into my test practically blind
THIS WOULD HAPPEN.
omg why why why why WHY do I do this ?!
I was able to frantically read through my notes during the test (it's open-book, open-notes) and fill in more than half of the answers on the exam in the last 40 min
still
I guessed on 14 out of 32 questions
sigh.
thankfully, she drops the lowest of the test grades, excluding the final exam
so I'd still have a 87ish test average
but basically: I suck.
and I seriously need to get my shit together by the start of this next semester

not sure what the rest of the day has in store for me
probably:
packing
listing shizz I need to buy
cleaning my hoarders-esque room
watching the new episode of Covert Affairs tonight (most recent show I've become obsessed with)
maybe studying for my final, etc. etc.

hobby lobby

after talking w/meeshelle about our room this semester
I've been getting SUPER EXCITED to decorate !
I'm thinking
colors
pictures
laundry wire lines
ethnic things
little knick knacks lining the shelves
my brain has been brewing ideas for the past week >:)

going to hobby lobby & prob joann's as well to buy a few cheap things like fabric and paper to decorate the room with
excited!

oh and later I need to study my ass off for tomorrow's test

light movie, it was pretty good
basically blown away by the beautiful scenery
so beautiful ahhh the colors the plants the people the food
EVERYTHING
I want to travel and experience the world

test on tues and final on thurs
dental appt. on tues and thurs for my cavities :( finally lololol
last minute hanging out w/friends when the opportunity arises
packing packing packing
having "the talk" w/the parentals
then everything inbetween in order to get ready for austin

getting back into arts and crafts
bc anny's bday prompted me to finally finish making anny & cindy's gifts...from last christmas LOL
yes, a new level of procrastination.
the gifts turned out reminiscent and random and cute yay

snuck out of jail and met up w/anny, jarret, & bobakalakalakalakaa at the mall
we had a lovely chat about lotr hahahaha in addition to the usual ridiculous things we talk about
blehhh I miss hanging out with them dearly :(

planning to watch "Eat Pray Love" manana (or rather, today) con mi madre
I'm essited about this movie so I hope it's good !

then I got $8 more by selling my books to half-price
it really is a rip-off lol
I resold about a dozen or more books
but I'm not reading them anymore so I figured as long as someone else can make use of it while I make a small profit at the same time, cool

so last night I watched inception
AMAZING
def the best movie I've seen in a long long time
really makes you think and keeps you on your toes through the entire thing
and it leaves you still thinking about it afterwards
love those kind of movies
plus, they had an amazing cast
such an interesting concept, I was really mind-blown

and one more thing: Joseph Gordon-Levitt ;)

1) OMG this girl is so strange and funny
I am absolutely in love with her sense of humor hahaa
very refreshing listening to her
I feel like everyone/everything sounds so similar nowadays
that raspy-ish girl voice seems to be really common now
but she still sounds unique, and her style and original songs are catchy
I'm not a quick fan of originals either
very very talented girl

2) found him by his "hello I'm in delaware" cover
which I loved
says a lot bc I'm always skeptical about dallas green covers to begin with
the lil messup in the beginning of that vid really made me smile !
so basically:
beautiful soothing voice, awesome geetar playing, very laidback calming style, BEARD, really unkempt hair
= downright cutie in my books
oh and he has an accent :)

watching criminal minds on sunday with me mum has become routine now
and I love it
today:
breakfast consisting mainly of spam (I'm in love/it's an insanely unhealthy love)

met the two exchange students that are staying con maddie y cindy
and ahh I'm jealous it seems like so much fun to show peeps around from foreign countries

watched the middle-ish to end part of lotr, return of the king bc it was showing on tnt

mi familia is hooked onto that show as well, so it works out nicely

just cut off a whole bunch of hair a leetle while ago
what started as just trimming my bangs bc they were so effin long
turned into
hacking away around the bottom to make it less thick
something I've been kind of bothered by for awhile which is the reason I wear my hair up all the time
will prob cut even more manana after I see how my hair looks now
I just want my hair to be long and messy and black again

gmail texting

so resrie told me that gmail texting exists and I tried it out today
this has opened up a new world for me LOL
it's pretty much texting heaven
I had a million texting windows open I could look at all at once it was so amazing
felt like I was using a bigass phone ! hahaa
this new discovery has greatly enhanced my immediate communication with others hehe

so errrday my momma comes home at 1:00 for her lunch hr
and basically everyday I prepare lunch
decided to post some pics of things I've made
it's mostly finger-food like things that we eat for lunch haha but they're pretty yum

as a way to dump out my thoughts, inspirations, words while under house arrest
spent quite some time tinkering and trying to perfect the layout. it reminded me strongly of myspace and the many hours spent messing with the html, ha.

so idk exactly what I'm going to write here, or who may even bother reading this lol

HI THERE

hmm it's 12:44am and all I can hear is the soft hum from my laptop and the annoying grasshoppers outside my window

here are some pictures I'd like to share:

1) currently the floor of my room

magazine clippings

I swear it's an organized mess; the stacks are sorted by types of pictures, sizes, etc.
basically I had collected a lot of magazines at some point I think almost exactly two years ago...?
I remember cutting out pictures in the plane when I last went to NY, sept. '08
anyways
I was just going to recycle all of them
then I remembered how much I liked leafing through them time to time to just look at cool pictures because they were so innovative and sometimes really out there
so I decided to cut out all my favorite pictures, not wanting to lose them
leslie gave me most of her magazines as well because she didn't read them anymore
it was a shitload of magazines
so I cut and cut and cut
and decided to make a collage in a booklet
like most things:
I started the magazine-collage book and set it down, never picking it up again
til I found my booklet recently and have resumed my work
there's a million pictures, and I glue them a certain way idk, so it will take some time
that, and I'm also really distracted
so I forget to work on it even though it's covering my floor ha
hope to finish by the end of summer!

2) titanic
watched it last weekend for the first time in a long time
it was showing on tnt
superrrrr beautiful movie, one of my favorite romantic movies of all time hands down
the theme song kills me - esp. the piano arrangement
and the arrangement in the very very last scene of the movie where rose goes through the doors and jack's waiting for her at the stairs, etc.
OMG I seriously wait for that one scene, the music and everything is so beautiful together
of course after I watched the movie, I had to learn it on the piano again
of course.
the movie made me think of how badass it would be if there was another ship modeled after the titanic
obviously this new cruiseship would be fashioned in a way that would make it completely safe and up to date with modern engineering, engines, technology, etc.
BUT
the interior would be completely old school, just like the original titanic
it would be like jumping back in time, on a cruise ship
idk I think that would be awesome.

3) Dr. Reid from "Criminal Minds"
completely obsessed with that show
completely. obsessed.
michael gray gubler plays dr. reid
basically
the biggest crush I've had on a tv show character
so geeky and insanely brilliant and awkward and cute
basically
perfect
lol
mad-eye and I were talking about the show
and she showed me his site: Gublerland!
LOL I was like wtf is this
it's so weird
and awesome
at any rate, my heart has been captured by this actor's weirdness and charming awkwardness

that is all.

and I have yet to get my cavities filled
